You're probably the only DevOps engineer at your company.
Or close to it. You're the person who set up the CI/CD pipeline, manages the cloud infrastructure, keeps an eye on security alerts, and somehow also answers questions about why the staging environment is down. All before 10am.
You don't have a 20-person platform engineering team. You don't have a dedicated SecOps department. You have a Slack channel, a monitoring dashboard with too many red lines, and a backlog that never gets shorter.
DevOpsRadio is made for you.
What this is
Every week I cover what's happening in DevSecOps (new CVEs, platform updates, cloud provider changes, tooling shifts) and filter it through one question: what does this actually mean for a small team?
No enterprise-scale architecture astronautics. No "just spin up a dedicated security operations center." Practical, honest, real-world takes for engineers who wear every hat and have real constraints.
- 03:00This week's storiesThe 3 things you actually need to know about.
- 12:00The SMB angleWhat it means when you're a team of two with a $500/month cloud budget.
- 22:00Community segmentListener Q&A, war stories, near-misses and wins. Rotates weekly.
- 32:00Before you goThree quick links, one action item. That's it.
The companion newsletter goes out every Friday morning with the episode, show notes, and the top links from the week.
Who's behind this
I'm Nate, a DevOps engineer who got tired of reading content written for teams I'll never be on, about budgets I'll never have.
I started DevOpsRadio because the SMB and startup DevOps community deserves the same quality of signal that enterprise teams get, translated into the reality of smaller shops.
I've [YOUR EXPERIENCE: e.g. spent the last X years managing cloud infrastructure for companies between 10 and 200 people] and I'm still in the trenches, so everything I cover is stuff I'm actually thinking about too.
Got a war story, a near-miss, or a question you can't Google your way out of?
The best part of this show is the community. Hard-won lessons, wins, close calls: I want to hear it.
Find DevOpsRadio wherever you get your podcasts.
Or get the episode, show notes and the week's top links by email every Friday.
